What Is Painting Club?
Painting Club is a two hour open session in our studio on Aire Street. You'll have your own place at the table, a canvas, full use of our materials and a cup of tea in your hand.
A warm up to begin. Every session opens with a short exercise to get your hand moving and settle you into the work. It's the easiest way past a blank canvas.
Two hours to paint. Acrylics, brushes, knives and a canvas, laid out and yours to use as freely as you like. Umbers and burnt sienna for something quiet, pastel blues and yellows for something brighter.
A still life, or an idea of your own. We set up a still life under studio lighting for you to work from. You're just as welcome to bring something you've been meaning to paint.
Guidance on hand. This is a free practice session, we're in the room throughout, happy to help with mixing, technique, or simply where to begin. Ask us anything, however small.
A canvas to take home. Yours to keep, to give to someone, or to leave with us to dry and collect the following week.
