Private art parties in Leeds for birthdays and hen dos

A kid’s birthday, a 30th, a 40th, a hen do or a shower. Book the studio for your group and spend two hours drawing or painting together, with an artist on hand. No experience needed, and everything’s on the table.

From £12 a head · Any age, any group size · 2 hours, or longer · All materials included

A painting party in a real studio

A party with something to show for it.

Most party plans end up the same: a table booked somewhere loud, everyone on their phones by ten. A painting party gives the day a middle. Everyone has something to do with their hands, something to laugh about, and something to take home.

You’ll be in a real art studio and gallery in Leeds city centre, not the back room of a bar. We set the table and put out the paints, and an artist guides you, as much or as little as your group wants. Nobody needs to be good at art. The worst painting of the day is usually the one everyone remembers.

Birthday parties

Birthday painting parties in Leeds

Kids’ birthdays. A party where everyone makes something. We pitch it at their age, from a bright, simple canvas to a proper still life for older kids and teens, and everyone goes home with their own painting.

30th, 40th, 50th, and every year in between. Sip and paint with your own fizz, a drawing night with the friends you never see enough, or one big group canvas painted for the birthday person to keep.

Bring the cake, the balloons and your own playlist, and come early to set up. Tell us what they love and we’ll build the party around it.

Hen parties

Hen party art in Leeds

Paint the bride, or paint each other. Send us a photo and the whole hen paints the bride-to-be, each in your own style, or swap seats and paint the person opposite. The results are rarely flattering, and always the best photo of the weekend.

A daytime hen, then Granary Wharf. Sip and paint with your own prosecco, or ask us to sort the drinks. The studio is 3 minutes from Leeds station and a few minutes’ walk from the bars at Granary Wharf, so you can paint first and the night’s yours.

And everything else

Showers, stag dos and more.

Paints, brushes and a pink canvas laid out on the studio table

Bridal showers

Something calm and creative to do together, with a keepsake canvas for the bride at the end.

A finished painting of sunflowers in a jug, hung on a blue wall

Baby showers

A gentle afternoon of painting, and a set of canvases for the nursery wall from everyone who came.

A busy evening in the studio, people gathered round the long table looking at the work

Stag dos, leaving dos and reunions

Any group with something to celebrate. Tell us the occasion and we’ll plan it with you.

Art party questions

How much does a private art party cost per person?

From £12 a head for a drawing party, £20 for a painting party and £22 for sip and paint, each a 2-hour private session with all materials. Themes, longer sessions and drinks we arrange are quoted, so tell us what you have in mind.

What is a painting party for adults?

A private session in our studio for your group. An artist guides you through a painting on canvas, step by step, while you chat, bring your own drinks and play your own music. Everyone takes their painting home.

What happens at a painting party?

You arrive to a table set with easels, canvases, paints and aprons. An artist talks you through the painting step by step, or lets you do your own thing with help on hand. Two hours later, everyone takes their canvas home.

Do you do kids’ birthday parties?

Yes. Our parties are for any age. Tell us how old the birthday child is and we’ll pitch the session to suit, from a bright, simple canvas to a proper still life for older kids and teens.

What can we do for a 30th, 40th or 50th birthday in Leeds?

Sip and paint with your own fizz, a drawing night, a portrait of the birthday person, or one big group canvas for them to keep. Use the planner below to tick what you fancy.

Where can I have an adult birthday party in Leeds?

At our art studio and gallery on Aire Street, 3 minutes’ walk from Leeds station. Book it for a private painting or drawing party, bring the cake and the fizz, then walk to Granary Wharf for the rest of the night.

What are fun hen do ideas in Leeds, other than a night out?

Paint the bride from a photo, paint each other, or sip and paint with your own prosecco, then walk to Granary Wharf for the night. It’s a hen do activity everyone can join, whether or not they think they can paint.

What can we do at a bridal shower or baby shower?

Paint together for two hours, with an artist guiding you. Pick a theme for the occasion, or paint the guest of honour, and everyone takes their painting home. Bring the cake and decorations.

How many people can come?

Any number. Tell us roughly how many of you there are and we’ll plan the session around your group.

Do we need to be good at art?

No. Plenty of people haven’t painted since school, and that’s fine. An artist guides you, and it’s meant to be fun, not a test.

Can we bring a cake, decorations or our own playlist?

Yes to all three. Bring the cake, the balloons and the music, and tell us if you’d like to come early to set up.

Can we bring drinks to a sip and paint?

Yes, bring your own fizz or wine. If you’d rather not carry it, ask us about drinks when you enquire.

Can we choose what we paint?

Yes. Pick a theme, paint the guest of honour, recreate a favourite painting, or tell us your own idea. The planner below has plenty to start from.

How long is a party?

Two hours is our standard session. We can make it longer if you want a bigger piece or a slower pace.

Do we take our paintings home?

Yes. Take your canvas home the same day. If it’s still wet, leave it with us to dry and collect it later.

What should we wear?

Something you don’t mind getting paint on. We have aprons.

Where are you?

Unit 5, Aire Street, Leeds LS1 4HT, 3 minutes’ walk from Leeds station. Ours is the blue door just right of the archway.

Do you run work parties too?

Yes. See our corporate art workshops for team socials, away days and Christmas parties, at our studio or your workplace. Or try a regular night first at Painting Club or Drawing Club.
